Walking out of a Movie Theatre | ADHD Information
I was wondering if anyone else has walked out of a movie theatre in the middle of the movie? I've done it a few times. It's not like I'm not interested in the movie, it's just that I start thinking of all of these other things that I need to do (which I don't end up doing) and then decide to just walk out. I'm sure other people think that I got offended by something that was in the movie (I live in Utah), but it's definitely not that. One time I was in the movie theatre with my sister and asked if she wanted to leave. She looked at me like I was crazy and said no! I've never asked anyone else if they want to leave, but still will do it if I go to the theatre alone. Can anyone else relate??I can't sit through a whole movie. I generally get up, go outside and smoke, wander around, read movie posters... and eventually make it back to my movie in time for the exciting ending.Nope. I tend to get caught up in movies if I'm in a theater. Plus, I don't want to waste money!
I'm ADD inattentive, so occassionally, I'll zone out, but usually I come right back to the action.
If it really interests me I will sit through but still get distracted with my own thoughts the whole way through. But some films I just have to walk out or else I feel like I will go mad!! I totally understand.
I think it is our lack of patience that drives us to get up, leave and start doing the things we feel we have to get done. It is terrible really because the average person would just think of something, remember it and do it 2moro. Not us, we have to do it there and then or else we forget it!!
If the movie isn't that good, I 'volunteer' to go for more popcorn and soda. I gives me a break and I usually don't go to movies, I rent them in 6Mo. If I hear they're really good!
