I have never experienced this with my kids, but I would encourage you to mention it to the psychiatrist. I wouldn't be surprised if the psychiatrist referred you to a pediatric neurologist, who might evaluate her for seizure activity and/or administer a sleep study
My 4 yr old boy is diagonised having generalized seizure. they are not sure what part of the brain he is having them in. but he is on medication for it. the ones he has just come on all of a sudden at anytime. my six yr old girl its only wen you pick her up from a sleep. everytime i search it on the net, it brings up night terrors but i dont think this has to do with night terrors. im just not sure.

Just a quick question. i have posted before. my child 6 years old is going to see a pychatrist in 3 weeks to be eveluated. In the mean time her dr said yes she has adhd but i wont label her with it untill further eveluation. he put her on catapress to see if it helps temporaily thing. at first she was a zombie and calmed her down too much. now she has come out of it except the outrageous night terrors she is having with it. she is back to the wild one. so i know this medicine is not right or she has another disorder with it. to get to the point. ever since she was 2, when you pick her up in her sleep to move her to the bed.she will shake. her whole body will shake till she finds comfort. maybe it is a security thing. i dont know. i dont know if it would have anything to do with her adhd or something else. just curious to see if any of your children do this.thanks for responding.
I do the hole shaking/spazzing thing when i'm asleep(I'm 17, an insomniac, and probably ADD, but not officially). A lot of times it starts right as I'm drifting of to sleep and I'll jerk, which is pretty normal, but then it continues throughout the night, or so I have been told by everyone that sees me sleep. I'm not really sure what this is, hasn't caused me any problems except a little worse insomnia than usual and a few bruises in the morning periodically. I kinda don't think this is an ADD thing, but checking into it would probably be good
I would definitely go to a Neurologist to check for seizures. This wouldn't have anything to do with ADHD.My son used to have breathe holding spells but never in his sleep but know My grandma might be going though seizures we find out monday if that is what it is...I hope not I hope it is something less then that.never had that problem at all. I would definitely tell the doctor about that. the only sleep ralated problem I have is my dd is a major grump for about 30min after you wake her. I just try not to talk to her until she has had some time to herself because I will have to do something about her grumpy behavior. No, I have never noticed my daughter doing anything like this. I would definitely mention it to the doctor.
