I looked into becoming a journeyman a long time ago - a 93.67 is a very good score! I believe if its the same they go out of 100. So that's very good!
The chances of getting into the union depend on the local steward, the number of union applicants and your personal record/score. Firstly if there are union members applying there's not much hope unless you know someone inside. That's just the way it works - that's a big capital "B" Brotherhood. They keep it in the family even if they get an applicant from hawaii. Money doesn't factor there.
Then if the union is lacking applicants in the union then you can get on possibly - then it's like any application dependent on skill of each person and then past history.
I assume you are trying to get in on a job and not from a classroom. In the classroom they pick apprentice members just like any job - by skills and availibility. I found electricity and electronics childfully simple. Maybe it is a good place for ADHDers - the only problem may be keeping the whole thing moving and dotting all the "I"s. If you mess up a job can get fined or people get hurt. So keep up your meds!
Why would union members apply. You mean relatives of union members? From what I can tell most applicants didnt' know anyone already in. I know that if u are a brother/cousin then u will get on. Thats how all jobs are and thats life. I'm from a big city and they have a lot of openings but a lot of applicants to. I just want to know if I have a good chance out of the current applicants. What was your score? It was out of 100.
