I didnt realise just how much the meds had a positive effect on me until this week. I havnt had any for almost a week now, a trial to see the difference and boy what a difference.

Ive forgotten three appointments this week. Forgot that my friend was coming for dinner for his birthday. Been late for work everyday. Havnt checked the letterbox in a week and its over flowing and all the hard work I'd put into the housework and dishes has gone to sh*t!!

Trial is over, life is soooooo much better on the medication. Oh and my anxiety and depression has been through the roof too

I know the feeling. I have some kindof funky tolorance where my meds never help for more than a couple months, if at all. I can sure tell when thay stop working though, but it usually takes me a few days till I realize either "Oh, My life isn't falling apart I just haven't taken my medication for a couple of days" or " I'm not having a breakdown, my medication has quit working for me (Again)". Yesterday, I had a melt-don at work, Had not taken my meds for a few days! So, people that say we are weak or whatever for relying on medication have no idea the struggles that come with deciding to take medication- Dosage, side effects, NO effects! It took me a long time to surrender to the fact that I can not function off medication, presently I am on an anti-depressent(Cymbalta), it works as far as anxiety and depression, but doesn't help my ADD.I have trouble going just one day one the weekend.

Depression and anxiety bother me ON meds. Off I am just Mr. Fog.
How do you balance things then?

Have you tried an antidepressant? Although I have had depression and anxiety on and off meds.(Adderall).  I take Lexapro and it helps with both.

Im on an antidepressant called citalopram. My anxiety and depression doesnt get worse on my ADHD meds either. It doesn't get worse on meds, it just continues sometimes. Depression is a side effect of Ritalin - I swear, it is listed in the side effects, look it up.
How do you balance things then?
