Anyone have a son with ADHD that's a teenager. I am getting nervous because he has got some raging hormones going. He takes Concerta and he is less impulsive, and frankly I think he's too chicken to try anything, but we talk ALOT to make sure we are open about things!! Any tips for a single mom with a teenage son or am I on the right path so far? He's a great kid, but sometimes when he's off the meds, he can go a little overboard with the sex talk and it bothers me. He thinks its funny and all that, but in the wrong crowd, someone might not appreciate his 'humor'. He also gets so moody and crabby when the meds wear off. Anyone else have this problem?

Red6538774.032662037Hey Red, i'm a single mom with a 12 year old on concerta, he's not into the sex talk yet, but just recently he thought he was being funny by saying what he thought people would consider a joke but was over heard by the wrong person, and ended up with in school suspension. This is a boy who has never been in trouble before. So just remind him you never know who is listening. My son also is a bear before and after meds., it's a hard time when this happens.. I think you are on the right path with him, just keep stressing that what you think is funny, others may take it way seriously.
