sad todayI'm unhappy to report that I'm having doubts as to whether the surgery worked. Everytime I try to get back into my exercise routine I've been having skipped beats that last all night. They make me feel lightheaded. I called the doctor last week about this and he didn't return my call. I called the office again today and the receptionist is now trying to track down the doctor.
The Inflicted Cheekydeeky Cheeky, So sorry to hear the sad news. Maybe it is to soon and you just need to give yourself more recovery time. Hoping for good news from the doctor. -Gettingagrip-I'm sorry cheeky. Don't give up hope. Please wait until you talk to the doc before panicing. You may need more recovery time. Heck, that's got to be a lot for your body to deal with and recover and heal from. Are you sure you are not trying to do too much to soon? I'm sure you are quite anxious to get back into a "normal" life, but you may be rushing it. I'm also sad to hear that your doctor is not calling you back. It's so hard to find medical help that you can rely on. Please keep us posted as to what is going on, how you are feeling, and what the doc says when he does get a hold of you. You are in our prayers! . . . Kim
Please let us know what the doctor says. We are out here, but we are still with you! Cheeky, Sorry to hear about your problems. Are there some natural supplements you can take which might be able to help? Maybe a brisk walk would be easier going than a serious work out, but would still burn off plenty of calories?? Thanks for your support everyone. I called the doctor again today and finally got through. He's sending me a monitor to wear that records these irregular beats to check them out. Hopefully they're part of the healing process and nothing serious. I didn't exercise today and so far no skipped beats. If it proves the surgery failed I may have to have another. But following Kimo's advice I'm going to go about my business and not dwell on that. However, they also said that ADHD meds are not an options until they investigate these irregular beats. Cheekydeeky A Thumpity Bumpity Beep Blurp Blart That is the sound our our Cheeky's Heart Her heart is cheeky and its blue So I pray that it beeps strong and true
You know Cheeky, With a heart as big as yours, it probably just takes longer to heal.
Thanks Chaz. And to Ideaspring, sometimes arrythmias in young people with no history of heart disease indicates a lack of potassium. They gave me potassium in the hospital. So I've stocked up on bananas and should probably consider buying potassium supplements. Oh wait- you mean for ADHD?? That I don't know. Thanks everyone for your support, you guys have been great. But from now on I'm going to post any heart concerns to the Adult Congenital Heart Association message board and see what they say. I'll give you guys an update though, just to let you know I'm hanging in there. |
