Adderall, Wellbutrin - Depression | ADHD Information

Hi,

I am 31. About 2-3 year ago I was diagnosed with ADD. I went on
Concerta and didn't have much luck with it. About a year ago I went on
Adderall XR and boy... talk about a chance in my brain. It was awesome to
say the least. Quickly though 20mg wasn't enough, then I went to 30mg.
Once I was on 30 I had one or two periods per day my heart would be
racing. During this time it was hard to concentrate on anything else
because of the weird lightheaded anxiety issues with your heart racing.
(you only have one heart, you don't want to lose it).

After awhile at 30, I was feeling down and out. The effect of 30 was not
adding to my ability to get things done... in fact, I felt like I was worse off
on Adderall than off of it. While I could sit down and do nothing, that is
exactly what happened. Projects NEVER got done. I neglected to tell my
doc about my heart concerns and BP issues while on 30 and he up'd it to
40. This set me over the edge and after only a few days, I dropped down
to 20 and have been that for for awhile now.

My doc also put me on Wellbutrin XL. I started this at 150 for a week,
then 300 for 3 weeks. While I noticed I was not as depressed and felt
slightly motivated... my doc up'd it to 450. After a few days on this, I
started getting the fast heart things back... and only this time, my heart
started skipping beats and I was having odd shortness of breaths each
time it happened.

So... about 5 days ago, I dropped all my meds. Starting yesterday, I
started to feel SOOO MUCH BETTER... this cloud of depression that had
been over my life for the past year or so was gone. While my ADD effects
are more in my face and my ability to do anything for any length of time
is very annoying, I can't help but wonder what meds are really doing to
us?

I have not tried stratera, but not sure I want to deal with the side effects.

Anyone else in the same boat?
