Floofster - that's not an ADHD trait - no offence but that's just plain DUMB!

Ok admit it - this is you we're talking about right? Right?!? Come on you can tell us? So where did you lose it all huh?

LOL!!

How did he lose ALL forms of ID?  What about his birth certificate? If he or his parents have a copy, he can start with that.

The way to lose all forms of ID is to lose them one at a time, not worry about it since you have other ID's that can get you by, and then when you are down to your last ID, lose that.

woo-hoo maybe he can become somebody else entirely.

wipe out that credit card debt history............. start afresh!  new name, new life.  like an FBI witness protection scheme but without anyone trying to track ya down and kill ya.  sounds good.

i lost my passport (several times - in fact so much so that they now refuse to issue me with a 10 year one anymore, i think because they are convinced that i am selling it on the black market or something - nobody over here in the UK has even heard of ADD so there is no point trying to explain anything on that level!)  and yeah, all you need to do in the UK is go to the passport office with a friend who has their passport and is either in the legal profession or simply has a university degree and they sign back of your photos and your form and you get a new passport in a couple of hours....

simple like that.

Hee!

Poor guy! I hope he can work it out.

Ho, this sounds all too familiar! Poor Floof. Whence my daughter has encountered similar problems, she has had to go to the city records to get a copy of her birth certificate. Also the Secretary of State will accept your high school yearbook (picture) as one form of ID. But you need two. Call them and they will tell you other forms of acceptable ID. I NEVER giver her  her original birth certificate now, keep it locked and stocked due to her long and checkered history of ID loss at the ripe old age of 21. Best of luck...and expect to pay some cash, they charge you for being ADD in this way!

PS Her most common loss is of her debit card, not sure why the bank keeps giving her another one, but think it has to do with the overdraft fees they feast on from her.

Nope never herd that before. Right now I can't find my drivers license but know the number though. You can get a SS card by just refilling out paper work and turning it into that office. [QUOTE=GarbagePailKid][QUOTE=GlenW]

Wait a minute .....floof!  Is that you?  Are you GarbagePailKid too? Or, or.......I don't get it, maybe I'm dimp.

So floof,

I am not you?

Dammit, then who am I????

(lol) floof: I hope you find your ID very soon. It must be tough to have lost so many things... You must be feeling really stupid. I can sympathize, even though I can't really relate.

LOLLOL

GarbagePailKid38784.6384837963Here in California it's not so bad when you lose your wallet.  I just did on the 8th of this month and all I had to do was go to the D.M.V where they have the last picture taken in the pc file.

I know a fellow ADD person who recently lost all forms of ID. However, to get most forms of ID, you need some other ID. Have any of you had to go through this?

How do you begin replacing ID documents when you are starting from scratch?

You can typically get a social security (or here in canada social insurance) number with a testimony from someone who can verify who you are and that you are being truthful. Pretty sure the same goes with birth certificate copy.  I'd go those ways to start.

If a driver's license is lost then also I believe they have safeguards like the maiden name of your mom - and if I'm not mistaken most provinces/states will take alternative ID if necessary like employment proof and again a testimony.

That's why identity theft is so easy both here and south.  What you need is the social number, details about address and family and you have the whole  person.  Check with the government agent for details as I know here they have details about how to regain identification.

My parents keep my second copy of my birth certificate just in case of such things.  I am a paranoid dude sometimes - but as you can see things do happen.

I know when social security had my grandmother listed as born a male named George, she had to find people who were around when she was born and could testify that they had know her all her life and she was who she said she was. That wasn't easy due to her age. (she was born in 1910)

I hope your friend can do it.
