My son is 16 and has been on 20mgs focalin for two weeks but has had no side effects. He does drink a lot of water and gatorade but that is common for him. He was not doing as well in school with the 20 mgs as he should so the doctor increased to 30 mgs yesterday. I haven't had time to see if the 30 mgs is working yet but I'll let you know in a week or so. Hope this works for your son.
He as on adderal a few years ago but he lost too much weight. So far there are no side effects from the focalin but we need to see improvement in grades.
p.s. how old is your son?
My son has just been switched from Adderall XR 20 mg to Focalin XR 20 mg. He has been on the Adderall since last April and in the last few weeks he has become very emotional and depressed. I took him off the Adderall imediately and just yesterday his Dr. started him on the Focalin. He has had a stomach ache and dry mouth for two days now. My question is does anyone know how long these side effects could last?
