9yr Son on adderallxr 20mg

My son is 9 we have just started taking adderall xr. He has always been a very sweet boy never fought with anyone. In fact we have always been telling him that he needed to stand up for himself. But in the past month I have gotten 2 phone calls form school for him being to aggressive. Is this a side effect of the medicine or just a behavioral issue?

every med can affect every person slightly differently. if he wasn't aggressive before then yes, i would say it is an effect of the med. I would describe our son the same way - sweet, considerate and lets others take advantage of him a little too much. But we did see a change in his behavior once he started his ADHD meds. He has become more aggressive. We sat him down and talked with him about his behavior and explained why he couldn't act out in that way. I think it helped. But I did have his Dr. drop the milligrams on his meds. Since then we haven't had any issues. Good Luck!
