psychologists | ADHD Information

Actually a psychologist can't perscribe medications. If you need someone to do medications you need a child psychiatrist. Good luck! I know for me it didn't matter what doctor the diagnosis came from, some will still refuse to believe the diagnosis. My son has even been hospitalized and I STILL have family members refusing to believe anything is wrong with their perfect angel!    don't you just love that!   ppl do that to me too.......like hello.......A pediatrition diagnosed my daughter with adhd when she was 4. She will be 8 in june and is finally referred to see a psychologist. I had to change doctors 2 weeks ago and went to this new doc telling her that maybe my daughters meds need to be changed and she said shes just gonna refill what shes taking and to not stop taking it and get evaluated by the psych, and then her meds will be changed.  I know she has adhd but to actually be diagnosed by the psychologist it might help with my mom and other family members who disagree with it. I'm excited. I don't know yet when she will go but I will keep ya'll updated.
