I would go to the site below for bipolar disorder, since this is an ADHD board. (Some parents here, however, DO have experience with bipolar in kids). Here's on reading site and one posting site.
You may want to read "The Bipolar Child" by Dimitri and Janice Papalos. You can buy it in any bookstore. It's filled with information.
OlderMom38785.5637268519Thank you very much!Oldermom has some great advice. My son is also bipolar. One of my favorite places to go is www.bpkids.org there is a fee to join, but you can get a waiver for the fee if you can't afford it. Let me tell you it is SO worth it! They have a chat room there and a great place to go and ask questions or just vent about your day. The book she recommended is awesome and I have even recommended it to my son's docs. Good luck, hope this helps.Hi Cathie, my son has adhd, and they think he has bipolar also, he has another evaluation in April. If money is an issue like it is for me, most libraries have the bipolar child. It is really an interesting book. also the conduct disorder site listed above is very helpful. Have a good day. Thanks for all the help and advice. The bipolar part is so new to me. I will end up at the library.
