Harleyjak, you should read my post about stimulants and ADHD. Apparently, depending on the type of ADHD you have, a stimulant could result in making you more "stuck"  - I noticed that it is happening to me. I can sit still and concentrate really well...on web surfing.

A new dr. told me to go and take the "subtype" tests located on the Amen Clinic website.

I can't figure out if Ritalin is the path to take or not. I got a 96% on a test in one of my classes the other night, but most of the time it seems like it is just making me more interested in websurfing or engaging in conversation...not doing my work.  I am a technical writer, so I too have a demanding, detail-oriented job. And, I'm doing horribly at it right now.

In preparing to go to my doctor after being diagnosed w/ ADHD by a psycologists can anyone give me any info on which medications work well for an adult female w/ a 10-11 hour work day in a very detail orientated job?

Ive read about seveal medications but was curious what people with  experience on these medications have to say as far as how soon you started seeing and feeling results and on which meds work best for them?

Relax, girlie, this is a supportive place. I haven't had much luck with medications myself but it sounds like Strattera might be good because of its long-lasting effect. Also try therapy and exercise. That has helped me a lot.
