I believe i have social anxiety and inattentive ADD. Ive done a lot of research and both disorders are caused by low dopamine. I was just wandering if ritalin would be effective for both since it inncreases dopamine.
thanks a lot
Hi, hope you are still checking around since it's been over a month since your post. I have inattentive ADHD and anxiety as a comorbid (or coexisting) trait. I believe the anxiety is mostly caused by being back in college and having the old fears coming back about academic failure. Ritalin LA has helped me a lot but getting the dosage right is a difficult process. If the dosage is too high it can really aggravate anxiety and cause temporary confusion or fugue. Your doctor should start with a very low dose and increase it as needed if you are diagnosed with ADHD-I. However, if you are diagnosed with a depressive or anxiety disorder only there are lots of good meds out there. Ask about Wellbutrin in this case. Best wishes.
