Hi this is my first time on this forum. last week I went to a Ped. to get my son tested for allergies. While I was there he mentioned that there was this new drug on the market and adderall xr had a longer time span than Dexadrine which caught my attention. My son has been on Dexadrine for 10 years, these past three he has been on the slow release. He takes 10mg. This caught my attention because he would actually be on medication while doing his homework and not coming off the effects. So the dr. gave me a prescription of one week at 10mg and 14 days on 15mg.
So I went online to research about this drug and the only thing that really worried me was that it was taken off the Canadian market because of some children and adults getting heart attacks and now they have re-introduced it. Can anyone give me some information on this drug and the benefits they have seen from it? I would really appreciate this as it is a hard decision changing medications for our children, we want the best for them and always worry inspite of the way other people think we are drugging our kids to keep them under control and try to make us feel guilty. Thank you for any input you can give me.
