P.S. I've now been on adderall for over 6 years and went from a 2.0 student to a 4.0 student. Just beware of personality changes and heart problems. It's especially likely when you are on it for quite a while. I hope to god I'm not on it when I'm as old as all of you :) No offense. It's just I hope to be off of it after college. The cardiologist said I may experience heart failure if I stay on it too long. Probably not the thing anyoen wanted to here.

Well back from Doctor dont know what all the worry was about she looked at my tests and gave me a few of her own. Said I was ADHD basically in a big way, she just came back from Turkey where she was treating soldiers w/ ADHD. What a relief Gave me Adderrall XR started me on 5mg then to 20mg gradually by end of month. What a relief. Already cant wait to see results, anyone with any comments on how long it took them to notice a difference?Oops - ignore my last message about letting us know how the doc appointment went!
Great to hear it went well!
For me, I've been on 10 mg Adderall XR. I don't think I will ever be able to increase the dose because of my heart (Mitral Valve Prolapse). I also take 5 mg immediate release at 4pm. Today, in the afternoon I thought that the XR wasn't working so around 1:30 I took like 1/2 of my 5 mg pill. Then took my regular 5 mg pill at 5 pm. Whoa did I ever have bad heart palpitations! Won't be doing that again!
To your question (I'm sorry, I tend to rattle on ) I noticed a difference the very first day on the med. Just so you know, at least in my case, some days are still better than others. Some days my meds seem to be working great and other days I feel like I never even took my pill. But for the most part, I think the benefits are awesome!
Let us know how you do!
