Adderall XR feeling jittery not calm. | ADHD Information

I am 36 years old, female.  Just started 20mg today.. Not feeling calm at all.. More jittery and moody.  No appetite at all. Drinking lots of water which I usually don't do.  Feeling like I could run a marathon.  Want to go walking .. I need to know is this the way I will always feel?  Do I need to lower the dose?  Will it wear off in a few days?  I feel like I won't be able to sleep tonight.  I am also taking LEXAPRO.  I feel like my mind is racing and I can't keep my thoughts straight.. ANy thoughts?

I also feel like I need a drink or a cigarette something terrible.  THis is not what I wanted to feel like.  I hope it stops soon.

See how bad this is.. I can't stop of thinking things to say.. I keep phoning friends to try to calm down and I keep pacing while talking.  I have now smoked 3 cigarettes in 2 hours and I will only smoke 3 cigarettes in a whole day mostly.  If I have a glass of wine will that help or hinder.  I am so afraid I will be up all night.  Can I take a zanex?  Dr. has not returned phone call yet.  I can see how this will make you lose weight just relaz and ride it out ...you may find a glassor 2  of wine might relax you as it would for me but that is up to you ...or a glass of warm milk might help also  take a showertazzza38790.6524884259

Call your doctor when you can.  Probably you should be dropped down to 10mg.  It's always best to start low and build up.

It's common to feel a surge of energy and sometimes a slight jitter.  But to not get your thoughts together tells me that it's not working at all right for you at this point.  You should be very focused and fog-free.

Do check with doc ASAP.  If 10mg still leaves you feeling this way give it about a week - it does take some time to get accustomed but you should feel a lot better at 10.

Took again this morning with my Lexapro.  Ate a little.  Still jittery and no appetite whatsoever.  Using this as a journal.  Clenching teeth.  Tried to take a nap but could not go to sleep at all.  Going to try just 10mg tomorrow instead of 20mg.  Thoughts still racing and I feel very hyper.

The clenching of your teeth (from personal exp) it is the combo of lexapro and the adderall. Lexapro made me grind my teeth so bad that I actually jumped in my car, drove to the dentist and asked him to take a look. He told me to buy a mouth guard to wear at night. (which i no longer need) I'm 23, I've been on xanax since I was yes believe it or not 13 years old and I don't know, well I do know, LOL that the combination of xanax and the adderall xr 20mg and 5mg of the short PRN makes me feel calm, and focused. Some would think that the two would counteract one another, but it is the exact opposite with me. If I take adderall by itself I'm focused and hyper focus and lose track of time because of what I'm doing I dont even look at the clock. If I take the xanax by itself I'm mr chatty and would shut the hell up. But the two of them together balance me out.

(i must also say that I'm on a high dose of xanax)

Glen does have it right.  You are probably too high and need to gradually go to that level. Needing lots of water is important.  I drank 5L a day before adderall, now I drink 7L.  If you are not getting your thoughts together perhaps you are too stressed by the high dose - in other words - Adderal may be OK, but its stressing you too.  Stress can make ADD worse.  I started at 10mg - and I am over 200lbs.  My wife is at 10mg only and that works fine for her 130lbs.

Bottom line is - talk to your Dr..  In any case good lcuk and I hope you can get to focus!
