I started treatment with Ritalin (which is similar to Concerta) and also felt jittery and speedy. My Dr switched me to Adderall. After incremental dosing we figured out what dose I needed to achieve a benefit and it's been good news ever since. The difference between Ritalin and Adderall for me was night and day. Adderall does stay in your system longer and sleep can sometimes be a problem, so I am careful about managing that aspect.
Good luck to you.
I am frustrated because I couldn't tolerate concerta (I was on it 4 months and felt too speedy and couldn't sleep. I have been on strattera since July and feel that it isn't working for me. Has anyone had similar experiences? I am wondering if Adderall might be a good choice. I am worried that it will too make me feel too speedy. I welcome any replies. mrsmikey38791.2654282407I thought I had slept well on Concerta, but the quality of sleep was bad. I was feeling better at first but then kept getting more and more tired until I quit it.
I had no success with Strattera.
Ritalin was good, but I hate the ups and downs of the each cycle. I had to take them frequently.
Metadate was a good compromise for me Take one in the morning, let it wear off, then sleep reasonably well at night.
