I am a 31 yr old single father of a 10 yr old daughter with ADHD. She is currently on 20mg of Aderall. She has recently hit a spell of pulling some good ones. She lies about the silliest of things and even when I tell her to stop and think before she answers she still does it. Her behavior at school has definitely been improved. However, I received an email from her teacher today asking if i had received her behavior charts for both Monday and Tuesday. I replied saying that I did not cuz there are days they dont send them home. She wrote back saying this "The reason I asked about the charts is Devin took both charts home yesterday to get a signature and brought them back today signed with your name. Actually, the signatures were very similar to yours which is troublesome to me because it shows a conscious effort to deceive."
I work on a reward system with her and punish her by taking away things like phone priviledges and etc.. I used to spank years ago but that is not something I have ever felt was worthwhile. I'd appreciate some feedback from anyone regarding some insight. As you all know, parents of ADHD children is a neverending job that tests your patience quite often. I am however committed and just want to get a grip on things with whatever means that are necessary.
