I have two boys -- and they don't usually pee on the seat -- but they lift the seat, and then pee all over the back of the rim of the toilet -- I cannot get my toilet to smell fresh -- even when freshly cleaned. And yes, sometimes my 10 yr old pees on the seat -- like you say -- in the middle of the night ! (but at least he's not bedwetting anymore !) My only recommendation would be to try one of the "commercial" style seats with the hole right in the front so that he doesn't have to lift the seat . . .
Good luck --
I hate to admit this but my 13 year old still pees on the seat day or night. He can never remember to lift up the toilet seat I have grounded him, taken away things, yelled, I even had him clean the bathroom nothing works. I think he wipes it off himself some times but still does itMy son is almost 10 & about a year ago, we were visiting "grandma". DS peed on the seat & floor and didn't wipe it up. Needless to say, grandma made him clean it with disinfectant, down on his hands and kness. I was a little unnerved by that, BUT... since that day, he's NEVER left a mess. ( at their house or ours!)Okay Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have a solution it might sound gross but it works for me here goes I have 3 males in my house 2 of them have adhd and 1 possible....and 2 of them pee on the toliet seat My husband is one of them that have ADHD and He does not go in the toliet he goes right in the bathtub and to get it out is run the shower after they go... just a suggestion.

Cheerios!
My son is 8 and usually remembers to lift the seat but seems to have a problem with his aim. I have told him if he has an accident that he should just wipe it up but I may as well be speaking to a concrete wall!
I once pasted a pleading message on the toilet seat (this was for the toilet seat always being left up) but it only worked for one day!
What a frustrating problem. Sorry I cannot offer any advice. I do understand though.
I have the same problem with my seven year old and 32 year old husband!! If you guys find something that works, I would love to hear about it!!!
My 10 year old son lifts the seat sometimes. He pees on the toilet seat somehow. I have sat in it. I do have him clean it.I have a 17 year old who still lifts the seat, but goes on the back of the rim. I am forever having to scrub down the entire toilet, including the floor around it. I have tried just about everything, but have not been successful. I have begun to think that he is doing it purely for aggravaion. Oh, well, he will be out on his own in a few months. Sorry I really don't have any advice to offer. Good Luck!My son (9 yrs) used to do this and I would be the one to sit on it
I warned him at that time that the next time he peed on the seat, he would have to sit in it. It happened one time. He did not like sitting on a toliet seat covered in pee. He hasn't done it since to my knowledge. That's what my son used to do, and I made him clean the entire bathroom, by himself, and he hasn't done it since. Occasionally he might do it, but he cleans it up right then.I know it's absolutely disgusting to sit on a wet toilet seat. Even worst when you lift the seat to clean and..........
it's disgusting! I don't know why this is such a problem, unless some of it is just funny stuff to them, or in such a hurry to get back to playing?? I don't know. My husband sits and that works great but the boys must think that's not manly enough and laugh about it.
I recently introduced the cleaning of the toilet to the boys, the whole thing inside, outside and the floor around it. Told them if they were going to make this mess they could clean it because I was tired of dealing with it. We'll see how it goes at least I won't have to be the one cleaning it for a while.

That sounds like my home. I swear it is just a great big joke.
