Vacation | ADHD Information
Hi i drove to fl. with my son and mother when he was 10, we live in ma. so it was a long trip. I had lots of like hand held games, yes and no books he loved them. They make younger versions now, he had his game boy, but i surprised him with game boy advance he didn't find it until new York. He was actually awesome on the car ride. He loved the rest stops. I assume your flying pack a bag of stuff just for him, if you have a dollar store stock up on little things but don't show him so he'll be surprised. As for the theme parks, he had a hard time waiting, we went on his schedule, he had more fun swimming in the pool and playing at the arcade then he did at magic kingdom. We now go every year to a cabin in NH, he loves it all it has is a pool, but the action is down the street. Have a great time, and remember lots of pictures even if he is grumpy. RAZZLYNNE1738797.1701041667We bring a clock radio that plays night sounds, rain, radio, or white noise. That always helps mine relax and get to sleep. Getting enough sleep helps us all to get along. I also talk about how we will all be together for a LONG time and we need to treat each other nicely. Bring easy healthy snacks that you can bring out whenever. Sometimes we play a game where we take a sheet of paper and everyone draws something - we just keep passing it around adding to it. For some reason they get really silly and seem to love that.
They also like "Mad Libs". Look for easy travel game books at WalMart - by the coloring books. When you are at the beach have a few suprises - like a different shovel or sand toy. Mine could dig in the sand "till the cows came home!"
Have a wonderful time. I'm jealous!

Hi, We are going to Mexico on vacation with our 5 year old ADHD boy March 25 th for one week. We have never been on vacation with him before. I am a little nervous of whats to come because at home we have a set schedule. Does anyone know any good travel advice when dealing with ADHD children. I just hope he has a good time and is able to enjoy it.
