the question i asked pertained to repeating a remedy that had worked extremely well (bell.)on all symptoms.
the next night, a symptom returned in a lesser degree, this is when i posted the question.
i ended up repeating it and it worked beautifully!
had any new symptoms appeared or if anything else changed, i would have
had to re evaluate to see if a new remedy was indicated- is this
correct then?
i gave bell. 30c for a very high fever (almost 104!) headache and a canker sore in my daughter.
i'm wondering if i will need another remedy to finish this off. the canker sore is sloooowly going away.
2004-12-04
hahah. well. i'm happy to say it worked out well.
my daughter is 11 and i hope no one is kissing her yet! she has a
canker sore along the gum line of the lower right side. she had braces
put on recently and her poor mouth hurts for various reasons now!
i had tried nat. mur early on for the canker sore, back when it first erupted. do you think that it will work now?
herpes, does this cause canker sores?
thanks for the info. on nat mur. should i wait a bit to see if the bell. will take care of the sore?
2004-12-04
i'll read up on the remedies you suggested and try the baking soda/salt
water combo. i had her rinse with calendula tinture and water- she
hated this!
we tried merc.v earlier as well with no success.
yes, i'm going to phone the orthodontist tho we just had the wires
changed one week ago. hmmm? i have scripts for antibiotic junk he gave
us when the braces first went on and i'm sure he'll suggest using them.
why no bananas? potassium is acidic?
i'm off to read. i appreciate the help.
2004-12-04
i have no problem working around the doctor, been doing this for a little while anyway!
she's not had many antibiotics in her life. she's had several semi serious illnesses.
cellulitis after chicken pox, strep throat and pnemonia.
i'll keep an eye on the canker which seems okay this morning.
thanks!
2004-12-04
my daughter had the chicken pox when she was 7 but my boys were both
vaccinated for it. i remember being concerned about them getting the
shot tho. mother's instinct i guess.
i see what you mean about the bananas!
i remembered something this morning about the canker. before it came
on, she had woken up and said her throat felt "swollen" and started
coughing and panicked a bit.
i gave her apis without even reading thru my books! she felt better
almost immediately and seemed fine for the most of the day. the
coughing gradually resumed and then the canker appeared. this is when i
tried the nat. mur. and then merc. v.
late that night, came the sudden high fever and headache. fever went
really high the next day and i started the bell., which took care of
things.
she rinsed with the baking soda/salt today. the canker is red and still
there. i have not repeated the bell. since the night of my first post.
i'm still waiting to see if it will improve. it's not painful, which is
good.
i don't have nit. ac. i might be able to get it tomorrow tho.
thanks for the info. yes, i tell everyone about the vaccination dangers!
2004-12-06
i wanted to let you know that my daughter's canker sore is gone! the
site is still a little deeper red than the area around it but i'm
guessing that it will fade soon.
she still has a bit of a cough. this was the first symptom and i expect it to follow the law of cure as it has so far.
so the bell. took care of all. thought i'd let you know!
2004-12-13
hi, back again with a continuation of illness.
the cough worsened and became productive and deep. the bell no longer worked.
she developed abdominal pain, now severe and a low fever (99 - 101).
the pain is so great, she will not allow me to press there. it's on the
lower, right side, above hip and radiates to the navel.
i have tried phos. (cough) lyc. and bry. it could potentially be the
appendix and if i cannot get this under control, we'll have to go to
the doctor's and have some tests done.
any ideas ?
2004-12-13
she's currently at the hospital. the doctor sent us there with the suspician of appendicitis.
we are waiting for that result but we now know that she has pneumonia
for sure. doctor says it's unlikely that she has both append. and pneu.
at same time. i'm waiting to hear the outcome of the x-rays. likely
that the ciughing caused the abdominal pain- what i had suspected.
my husband is at the hospital with her and i know will allow them to
give her antibiotics, steroids or whatever they recommend! he's angry
becquse i waited and tried to treat it myself....
2004-12-14
unfortunately, her appendix ruptured. she also has pneumonia.
the doctors are saying she'll be in the hospital 1-3 weeks while they
treat with antibiotics and will remove the appendix in a couple months.
the high fever she had was most likely the beginning of the rupture as
they said she has had it for a week or more!
i'm stunned and exhausted-at the hospital all night.
2004-12-16
sorry to be so late in responding. she's home! made an amazing recovery, 4 days total in the hospital.
i'll post more after we settle back in here.
2004-12-21
my daughter is doing well tho she's still on antibiotics that i give
her intravenously twice a day. we will finish on the 25th and then on
to oral antibiotics for a week. they will remove the appendix in 6-8
weeks.
the pneumonia has pretty much resolved.
i am convinced that the bell. i had given earlier for the fever, helped
prevent a full rupture of the appendix. it's listed as a 3 for
appendicitis in murphy's repertory. the doctors say that the
perforation took place about a week prior to when she was admittted to
the hospital.
i believe if i had continued the bell., we may have averted the whole thing!! hindsite of course...
the homeopath that works with my son has sent some tapes on treating
acutes. i plan on trying to learn way more in order to be more
comfortable with not just remedy selection but dosing and dosing
schedules.
i'm not a homeopath, just a mom but i do plan on learning as much as
possible so that i can more clearly understand what is happening!
I don't get the point of this. Is this to prove a canker sore can turn into pneumonia or what? And what is a "bell"? Is this an attempt to put down homeopathy or to condone it? I'm confused. Is this indicating that the Mom should have known to take the child to the doctor earlier for the appendicitis? Seems to me she took her on the very first day the child complained about stomach pain. I guess I just don't get any of it. Or maybe there isn't a "moral" to the story.
Do you have the link you found this on IMac?
Sorry, reread and I don't buy any of it. This is a made-up story, in my opinion, posted only to cause trouble.
Oh nooo, here we go again? Surely not!!

I must be having a stupid day. I read it three times and still don't get the point bell=belladonna?===homeopathic remedy.....but imac, what the heck r u tryin' to show us?Me either! Is this YOUR experience Imac? In exactly what context was this posted? all rightie then...

I am with everyone else. What is that about, and what is the importance?

Gotta agree. I'm not sure I understand the purpose of this post. And what idiot would give Belladonna to a child? Also, I had an emergency appendectomy when I was nine, and I was in so much pain, I couldn't get off the couch, had to be carried to the car and into the hospital, and this child's partially ruptured but was able to make it for a week without going to the hospital? Don't buy it. Sorry.
......
IMac.....surely you realize that this post doesnt belong here....you are, after all the self-appointed authority on where posts should be.
Now my eyeballs ache after reading all this nonsense.....
I think Glen's right on the money. The post makes no sense otherwise!
I've read it and reread it, and I still don't get it. I'm releived that the rest of you didn't. I thought my ADD must really be acting up today!

Forgive me if I'm wrong Imac - but I believe he's making an analogy of a person who is totally hell-bent on never giving meds to their child. The chancre can be a sign of malnutrition, a viral attack (herpes simplex), or an underlying bacterial infection or immune system under attack. He was giving a very one-sided and extreme view of a homeopath/naturopath reader gone wrong.
From what I could see he was trying to make a similar fictional (?) report of a mother convinced what she is doing is right. The anti-med attacks can be very similar giving "diaries" of parents who, convinced of the efficacy of medication, ignored signs of trouble and of course the child suffered or even died.
A little over the top for sure but I get it. Most are somewhere in between unless you are a Christian Scientist or in opposition a hypochondriac or someone suffering Munchausen's by proxy.
Maybe take 'er down a notch Imac old chum! Just a thought.
