parent support group adhd

Has anyone tried organizing a support group for parents with children diagnosed with adhd? I have a 11yr son (5th grade) diagnosed with adhd since second grade. We have tried different meds and behavorial modifications. We are under psych care and therapist. Will be going to get sensory test. He is currently on straterra and started dietary supplement...I just discovered this message board and it helps me tremendously knowing I am not alone...I would like to start a support group in my area but do not know how. Can anyone direct me??? What are the steps I need to know to start a group??

My son's school psych asked me to start an ADHD support group up in our area. I will be interested in finding out what people have to say on the subject also.

barb38850.5647800926Theres on in Pennsylvania, where I live, but its on the other side of the state near Philly. I see the woman advertise about it on a yahoo group I belong to. You might try googling it....maybe get some ideas.

Have you tried CHADD? They have parent and adult support groups all over the country. www.chadd.org

Teri, If you are willing to start from scratch? as Maxdad suggests, CHADD which is in the business for years now, would have infastructure and style experience that would be vital on how best to start and manage a support group. I f you need any suggestions i am sure some of the moms, dads, on here will also able to answer some questions.
