Do lights and smells wig you out? | ADHD Information

Repairman! I forget to eat all the time too! Or drink. I have a note sitting on the table that says "eat & drink" and then I forget to look at it! I'm pretty sure it's the stimulants because I used to LOVE food.

Do you think there are people out there that function perfectly fine under the circumstances you mentioned? I know I don't. In fact, I don't even drive right now because of the instant fog.

I always ask my husband if something is normal or not and most of the time it's not!

I had no idea we were that different! No idea!

As soon as I walk into my Doctor's office the pungent aroma of chemically altered magnolias and rose petals slap me in the face. Immediately my all too familiar bubble starts to encase my head. I write my name on the list and tell them I'm there somehow. Then I float over to the waiting room where the florescent lights start harassing me causing my eyeballs to do jigs.

I really hate this demension because everything is muffled and people look at me like I just made balloon animals out of my lips.

My question is-- does this happen to all of us? Is it an ADDy thing?

.IMac38943.8624074074yeah, and patterns too.  Too many patterns around make me physically ill Lights don't bother me.  However, I have always been bothered by smells.  Certain candles, potpurris, and perfumes really bother me.  Cleaning products don't.

Not DX'd with anything but don't get me started on smells, certain humming noises and Flourescent lights.  I have to have very bright light in the room I'm in but I get the "natural" bulbs. First thing in the morning I open every blind/window treatment in the house.  Can't stand a cave-like house....hmmm...but I love exploring caves.

It seems like there are so many similarities between us, ADD or not. It's so neat to find out!
