My son is on Straterra only. It is working well but took us several months to really start seeing the effect. The first 8 weeks were at a lower dose to be fair. We are now experiencing no side effects and are quite happy with the Straterra.WE JUST STARTED OUR SON ON MEDICATION IN MAY. HE ONLY TAKES ONE MED. STRATTERA DID NOT WORK FOR HIM. HE WAS ON IT FOR ALMOST 4 MONS. AT ALL DIFFERENT DOSAGES. IT MADE HIM MORE AGGRESSIVE AND DIDN'T HELP WITH HIS ATTENTION SPAN AT ALL. WE NOW HAVE STARTED HIM ON ADDERALLXR AND EVERY 5 DAYS UP HIS DOSE UNTIL WE GOT THE RESULTS WE NEEDED OR I SHOULD SAY HE NEEDED. I HATE THAT HE HAS TO BE ON A POSSIBLE ADDICTIVE MED. BUT IT IS WORKIING FOR HIM. GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE STRATTERA WORKS FOR YOU.

My daughter is on strattera, and has been since july. While it helps her to stay on task, pay attention and focus better, it has not helped with some of her more behavioral issues. My daughter who is 8 just started Strattera this morning. I see that most of you are on this and another med also. Why are you on 2 meds and do they do different things for your child?
Tarrah - I am not sure why kids are on so many meds, but I think it is because they develop side effects from one and that is counter balanced with another.
