Help.... | ADHD Information

Lisa, I wish I had the answers for you.  I am reading your frustration and feel you should do what is in your heart.  If you truly feel that Timmy is showing signs of ADHD, or even something other than that, you should seek help.  Our goal as a parent is to help our child(ren) the best way we can.  The loss of a loved one does significantly impact a child(ren) and perhaps he just doesn't know how to express himself properly.  This comes with age.  Best of luck adn follow your heart.

Well I got up this morning to find that daniel ( 9) patrick (7) & timmy (4) had all absolutely trashed my longeroom and dining room  There was corn flakes from 1 side to the other, coconut mashed in carpet, plus sugar & milk too grrr. I have made them clean it up. Now the difficulty i am having is I tell Daniel off and they all get punished for it but the problem I am having is because daniel does it the other 2 copy. I know daniel doesnt deliberatley do it he just has the compulsion to and he has been like this every morning his whole life .Now his younger brothers who dont have adhd are copying him ! I dont know how much more of this i can handle .

I am starting to think I might get Timmy(4) tested for adhd as he is so much like daniel was except he doesnt have the hyperactivity with it. But once again I dont know if i want to know as i dont want him on meds hes too young still i feel. he constantly backchats, when hes supposed to be in bed he is just jumps around,he wont listen to us over anything he always knows better and will keep on talking to us about it ,if he has a fight with one of the other kids he tell us but if we say we don't want to know(as he is 1 of 5 we don't interfer in the piddly fights) he stands in front of us and screams .Until we listen hes also  overemotional crying at the drop of a hat, even his teacher has picked up on it. Hes had a few instances at kindergarten with him bullying & punching other kids as he doesnt like sharing toys.He also has no idea of the concept of quiet in class time and will quite often make inappropiate noises like shouting att the top of voice when they are sitting down for stories. His teacher has tried to tell him to be quiet but he still doesnt listen. I am seriously thinking maybe he needs to go see daniels paed. My kids have had a lot of upheavel in last 4 months ,Their Nanny & Popy(whom they have always been extremely close to) Came back from melbourne 9which is 3000kilometres away from us) to live with us then within a week Nanny passed away   now their poppy has just gone back to melbourne for a few months and all the kids are missing them. That is what i have been putting my oldest 2's bad behaviour down to. Im at my wits end now .I never have a break from my kids LOL since we moved to perth.

Any ideas on what to do about timmy would be much appreciated.

Lisa
