Is Seroquel safe for children | ADHD Information
I took my son to a child psychologist. He is taking Methlyphendate 5mg. He gets 2 pills in the morning, two at lunch and one when he gets home from preschool. We are going to switch him to the extended release but right now we are try to get him to sleep. He falls asleep just fine most nights the trouble is getting him to stay asleep. He can fall asleep at 8 or 9 sleep til 1 a.m. and then he is up and I mean up for the day. Or he will wake up three or four different times a night. I feel so bad I see it in his eyes just how tired he is. He has all the evalutations done by the Dr. and the school and the first diagnosed him as PDDNOS with Language delays. But then he just kept getting worse as he got older now has been diagnosed as ADHDMy son is 5 years old and has been on Clonidine well he is maxed out on his dosage of it and we have done the Melatonin thing. He takes Ritalin during the day. His doctor wants to put him on Seroquel well I have been researching it and I have been finding all kind of lawsuit sites for people who have taken and it seems to have a lot of harmful side effects. I am wanting to hold back before I put him on this medication . Can anyone out there help me?????????Seroquel is an atypical antipsychotic used to treat agitation and aggression. A side effect is sleepiness, which is why I'm guessing your doc is suggesting it. What time is your son staying up until? What dose Ritalin is he taking? What kind of doctor diagnosed his ADHD?
