Thank you for the replies
I talked to the Doctor today and he said not to worry, like you said. And also he said that the Tenex should not have anything to do with it.
But it sure fricked me out BIG time.. I almost took him to the emergency room. My husband travels and I just did not know what to do at 4:00 in the morning, but I am so glad we have so much access to information in the Internet, It was the first thing that I did and it calmed me down just to read some information about it.
Anyways.....I hope the Tenex works once we add the morning dose.
This isn't the one but it is a start.

Lots of twitching in sleep is common in adhd. I cannot find where I read that and it is driving me crazy. Can anyone guide me to that?????? Thanks in advance. My son has done this sort of twitching since he was just a toddler. When I first noticed it, it freaked me out. He wasn't on any meds at the time. Usually as he is falling asleep his whole body will twitch. Sometimes its his leg, sometimes just an arm. It alarmed me so I talked to the doctor about it and he really wasn't concerned. He more or less said that because our son was so active all day long that his body was just winding down. He felt that no other testing needed to be done, but if we wanted a referral to a neurologist we could. We decided that the twitching wasn't harming him and in no way effecting him, so we never did any further testing. He is now 10 years old and still does this every night. Sometimes its just for 5 mins and stops, and other nights it can go on for 15 mins. Anyway, I understand your concern and you should talk to your doctors about this. I just thought I'd let you know that my son does this too and we haven't had any problems.Last night my Son woke up @ 330am calling me and it sound it like he was having a dream. I went to his room and he was awake and told me that he had fallen.. But he did not. So, I thought it was a dream. I lay down next to him and he fell asleep again... But he would not stop twitching his leg and arm...like when sometimes we twitch out arm or leg when just falling sleep... Anyway, I got very nervous because that went on for about 30 minutes...I left his room and I got on the Internet to look Information about it.
He started taking Tenex at night to see if it would help his impulsiveness and aggresiveness, I thought maybe this was a side effect of Tenex. but is not.
Maybe he does this alot and I did not know...but I have never seen it and I have been with him when he is sleeping.
I am concern about it.... He seems normal when he woke up this morning.
He is 5 yrs old. He is also on Metadate 20mg once a day right now. Today I did not give it to him because I got a little fricked out last night about this..
Has anyone had this with their children.?
He started .5 mg for 4 days and he is on his 2nd day of taking 1mg. at night time.. this are the instructions of the doctor... after 4 days of 1mg at night he is going to also take it in the A.M .5 mgs.
Thank you and sorry for the long message

I hope you called the doctor and reported what you are seeing. Has your son ever been evaluated by a neurologist for seizures?Smallmom
NO, we have never been seen a neurologist about seizures because we have never seen this before and he acts very normal otherwise, (except for ADHD issues).
I called the Doctor this morning and they are supposed to call me back..I am still waiting for the phone call.
I have been reading a lot about sleep disorders and they say that some children do this and the best way to find out if there is anything wrong is by moving them a bit...waking him up for a little bit and if they change positions or wake up and then they stop then he is fine. nothing to worry about...
But ofcourse this is something I read in a website ..it was webmed or one of those.
I still want to talk to the doctor.
Thanks
What I have been reading is about
BENIGN SLEEP MYOCLONUS DISORDER
Has anyone heard of this before??
My 9 year old daughter has ADHD, and she has always moved constantly and twitched while asleep. This has occurred even back before medications. I have also heard that this is common in ADHD. I have adult ADD, and I also toss and turn throughout the night, but not to the extent that she does.
