which is the best medication | ADHD Information

hi everyone,

My son has just been diagnosed with adhd, he is 9, i am a little worried about the medication that he will be taking and after reading some of the messages on here the side effects that they have.

Could someone please advise me on the best medication for my son to be taking. He has not been prescribed any medication yet so i am trying to look into all the information available before he does have to start taking medication.

thanks staceyRemember, you can find a med where the side effects are not too bad.  If it is the wrong med, then you will have problems.  Sometimes you can try one med and it is perfect.  Other times you have to search.Unfortunately, it all depends on the child. If he is primarily hyper, any stim should help, but, again, all kids are different. If he's a rager, you may have more than ADHD on your hands and the kid could get worse. Lots of kids have bad reactions because of misdiagnosis.
