Oh nothing serious,
sometimes a headache, feeling overheated. I am an athlete and I notice that I need to drink more water. What about eating? I notice I have become more sensitive to bright light.
My heart rate hasnt gone up as I had an allergy test done and my heart beats per minute is 40 which is normal for an athlete.
Anyway I will see what the doc says :)
Yes, stimulant meds can suppress appetite for some but your right reporting all side effects to your doc. Let us know how it goes18 miligrams is the starting dose for Concerta and when yoy pick up you prescription you should be getting a pamphelt that indicates what temporary and common sides effects are that eventually subside. The phamphelt should also indicate what side effects are unacceptable. This applies to any medication. If your not seeing any change on 18 milligrams your doc will probably up the dose. It takes a while before the right dose and the right med is found because everyone responds differently so be patient.
Anytime you have questions or concerns about medication, dont hesistate to call your doc or your local pharmacist. What side effects are you experiencing that are giving you such cause for concern?
Hey folks
I started taking 18 mg of concerta about 6 weeks ago but my wife tells me that Im not as relaxed, focused. But I still feel some of the side effects. The doctor also mentioned that 18 mg would probably be uped when i see him this week
My concerns are will my side effects get worse? or stay the same. For the most part I am myself but just a few weird things that happen now and then.
Looking for your advice
I built up a tolerance like that and my doc said that is an indication of being on the wrong dosage. I was uped today myself we will see if it helps soon to come.I'm a highschool student who began taking Concerta in the fall. I am up to 36 mg now. My body responded great to the meds - my life changed a lot...I got along better with my parents, friends, and teachers because it really helped me with self-control/compulsion. Even though I have seen a great improvement in my overall lifestyle since beginning Concerta I have DEFINITLY experienced a "tolerance" to the drug. I was moved up to 54 mg last month because I thought it would help me with focusing when driving but it seemed to make me less of a free spirit and almost in a bad mood. So I decided to stick with the 36 mg and work on my driving slowly. I've had my permit for nearly a year and I'm still just not quite there. Anyway...tolerance MAY have something to do with Metabolism, or what we ate on a particular day...or simply that its time to UP the dosage. That was sort of rambling- sorry!
Hey folks
well Im on 36 mg of concerta and right away I felt sleepy, same way I did when I started taking the 18 mg. So we shall see what happens. But I can tell I have a headache this morning and feeling like im hungover. Gotta love these sideeffects.
