My son is 8(just turned 8 on the 6th of April) and I'm guessing he weighs 60 something LBS cause I haven't weighed himin a while.
He is taking 25mg as of right now.
My son just started Strattera about 2 weeks ago and so far I'm not sure I'm seeing any changes or not, but also not sure I want him taking it.
My son is ADHD and when we tried Adderal it was awful for him physically and we gave up. I chose to try the Strattera for now, but honestly does it work? Anyone use it and can testify to it?
Any advice anyone can give me on Strattera I would appreciate it. I'm new to the meds thing and want to make the right choice for my son.
We are trying Strattera right now. My son has been on it around 6 weeks. The longer he is on it, the more it seems to work. I have heard it can take up to 8 weeks to kick in. Some times not so long, it depends on the child. My son did awful on adderral, but it was more emotionally bad. I would stick with the Strat for a while longer, give it atleast 4-6 weeks. What dose is he on and what does he weigh?His dose might be a little low. If you do not see changes within 2 more weeks, maybe ask the doc about an increase.
