who is qualified to do a neuropsych evaluation? everytime i try to look up "neuropsychologist" in our medical book/online site for those in network, i get neurologist or psychologist?
my stepdaughter, 14, adhd, has been seeing a counselor for a couple weeks at the suggestion of the guidance counselor at her high school. she had an incident where she cursed out a teacher and denied it so strongly and with everything in her that it freaked him out. so we started taking her to this counselor. she said after a few visits she'd have some suggestions for us. one was to continue seeing her weekly, the other is for a neuropsych evaluation.
she's been diagnosed w/ adhd for almost 10 years now. we've been suspecting there might be more going on with her, though, than just the adhd. she takes 15 mg of adderall per day, in the am before school, and only on school days as suggested by her doctor. we tried ritalin and straterra with no sucess.
thanks.
