Where did my memory go??

"I can be having a conversation with someone, and in the middle of the story or what ever we are talking about. I forget what I am talking about, or totally lose my train of thought. If someone calls during the day, and asks me what I have been doing today. I draw a blank. The only thing I am ever really sure of is the here and now. I do know what is happening now. I have started a journal, so I can remember more in detail the events of my days.

Does anyone else have this problem????? Has to be a better way."

Confused

Oh my yes! And it is worse now that I am on the medication. I was actually wondering if I was still getting enough oxygen to my brain... as weird as that sounds, I am normally very vascular, and now, i can glance down at my hands and arms and see almost no veins at all. They have all but disappeared. meaning that if the vessles are constricted, then I'm really not getting sufficient oxygen to my brain....sounds weird, I know.

I did it again today!!! went to the grocery store and purchased $50.00 worth. Not 10 min. after I left my husband called, and in conversation asked me what I bought. I drew a blank, and had to rack my brain to remember 2 items.

yuh!!

But I find if I take a minute to relax and take a few breaths - often the information will come to me.  If we are busy thinking about something else - we have to file away all the other non-important information somewhere.

Just allowing yourself that minute and not be frustrated and angry with yourself for forgetting you will remember, encourage yourself, with self talk, It is okay to forget things, but they are in there and with a little coaching and patience from yourself you will do it.

We all tend to be a lot harder on ourselves than other, give yourself the same love and patience you would give others.

I too forget everything. Almost every day I have to ask what day it is, to which somebody replies with the date, and I say no I don't even know the day. If you ask what I did today or yesterday, I usually cannot come up with an answer in time to respond
