generic vs. brand | ADHD Information

I have taken both and agree with Reisa...generic does not last as long.  Especially the Barr generic.  The problem is I have a hard time finding a pharmacy that stocks the name brand.  I called 8 pharmacies (major chains...Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, and several grocery stores) and none of them even carry the brand.  They said they could order it and it would take about a week to come in. Does anyone else find this surprising that they wouldn't stock a medication as popular as Adderall in brand?  Anyway, I finally found a small family owned pharmacy that had it.  It is more expensive than generic, but not near as much as XR.  I also don't think the generic is as potent as brand.

20% is kind of a lot...  i didn't know that =T

Actually, generic is generic because the carrier is different.  Generics are allowed something like a 20% variance in effectiveness.  Personally, generic adderall didn't last nearly as long as brand.  Although the effectiveness was the same...while it was working.
Maxdad when you were on generics did you always use the same manufacturer. According to my doc brand vs generic can vary by as much as 20% high and low, but I would hope that a single manufacturer would use the same formula consistently.
