Hi All,
I am new to the forum, but have been on and off meds for years.
I would like to know if anybody has had the same situation.
I was on Ritalin - 80 to 100 mg a day.
It made me distant and self centered I am told.
It also made me, .... Randy i.e. aroused, the Ritalin that is.
I have since gone to Dexedrine, 4 15mg CR and 4-5, 5mg immediate release.
My problem is that:
Dex produces wakefulness, but that's it. I feel trapped in my head, unable to really motivate myself and make these old bones move. No false sense of optimism, no well-being or energy.
The Ritalin seemed very strong, compared to Dex, and I see how people could get "addicted" to Ritalin, but I do not see what the big fuss is over amphetimine (sp)
I don't want to take the ritalin and be a selfish horndog, but I can't get past my fatigue with the dexadrine. anyone?
Welcome to the real world again lol! Now you must find the reason to get out of bed just like the rest of the world. You are no longer driven by urges that you have no control over.
The real world can suck - but you get to enjoy it. I use dexedrine and find new reasons to get out of bed every day. I have a wonderful woman and a good job now. All the best reasons to wake up every day!

Thanks for the encouragement. The "real world" huh? "just like the rest of the world"? not sure where you are coming from, but thank you.
I am not suffering from depression, usually.
I have hep c as well as add, which causes fatigue. I was being a little sarcastic with "false sense of well-being" and such.
I guess maybe the fatigue means I need to sleep better, eat better and exercise more - where as the ritalin may have masked this more.
I did start at a much lower dose, but that is a useful thing to know. Thanks!!!
