Am I on the road to being a drug addict? | ADHD Information

Adjusting meds is perfectly normal.  Everyone has a different amount that works for them - don't worry if your MD doesn't!

Now if you are concerned and wish to keep the level of meds down and still keep the effect the longest - ask to be able to try med holidays.  Then you just take one week cold turkey for around every 2 months on.  It works wonders for me with dexedrine - I've been on 20mg daily for over a year now.  Many find it keeps the meds from leveling or dropping in intensity.

Hey guys!  Just needed a little advise and I knew you all would be able to help.  I went to the doc today for my monthly check up.  Aside from having to pay for the last I appointment that I forgot to go to OOOPS!  it went pretty good.  The only concern I have is that she uped my dosage to 64mg of concerta!  I am a little afraid of taking this high dosage.  The reason why she upped it was because the drug had began to loose it's effects that I benifited from when I started taking it.  She said that this only happens when you are not on the correct dosage.  Is there anyone else on there on this high of a dose?  Damn I must be pretty bad if I need this much.  I hate it when my wife is right!@!@!@!@!

I am off of work for a couple weeks at the end of May, maybe I will give it a try then.  I am not so much concerned with how much meds I take.  I just have never heard of a dose that high.
