Congrats!! Thanks for the info on biofeedback. I am going to check into that in my area and with the doc.
Biofeedback is a retraining of the brain. I live in Vancouver Canada and there is a doctor that opened a "neuropsychophysiology" clinic which offers biofeedback and have had success with treating adhd. My son goes once a week...they hook up electrodes to his head and he plays video games without a controller. He has to alter his brain wave activity in order for the game to work. It is fascinating. It seems to be helping already although we are only half way through the process...they said it can take 20 or more treatments. You should do a search in your area to see if it is offered near you. Good luck.
We used Interactive Metronome and we had success (15 session) but we go back for "booster sessions" at the beginning of every school year. I just found out that IM offers a home unit and my ds can do his brain excersises at home!!! Our school is going to offer IM by the end of the year and we can get our home units through them after completing the initial 15-12 sessions.
I found this site that offers biofeedback as home units. Never used them but if biofeedback is hard to find in your area it may be an option.

IMac38945.6145023148Wonderful news!!!! Thanks for sharing!!! There are many more alternative treatments than most folks (especially doctors) realize. My favorite thing on this bd is to read that someone has found something that WORKS!!The book Stopping ADHD has exercises that are crawling. I've been doing them and they seem to help me very much. I think they are reprogramming my brain somehow. I can remember things so much better now. http://www.interactivemetronome.com/im/index.asp
Follow the prompts to parents and then there will be a place to find providers in your zip code. The prices can really vary so I hope you have the option to shop around. There is a provider in my area that is so outrageously priced it is obscene.
My son is 9. I will know how much the home units cost next week. I will let you know.
that's great to know - did you post this on the alternative/complementary forum here?
our DS7 has done about 20 neurofeedback sessions and we are currently considering buying the software and machine from our neuropsychologist. he is responding very well to neurofeedback.
