survey on use of medication | ADHD Information

Share

Hello,

I am a Dutch high school student conducting a research on the use of medication for ADHD. In Holland, high school students need to write an extensive essay on a topic concerning the subjects they have choosen to take their exams in. The topic I am researching is "medication for ADHD", with special focus on the chemical principles and side effects. I have designed a questionnaire to research the experiences of people who take this medication, in order to have a complete picture and not only theoretical information from literature.

I would be very grateful if people here could fill in the questionnaire. Unfortunaltely, my research does not include Adderall, as it is not for sale in the Netherlands. Concerta and Strattera are included. This research is looking at both adults and children taking medication, as well as looking at reasons why people quit, so any experience with medication will be very helpful. The results will be processed anonymously. I will record age and sex, and I have one Dutch database and one American one, in order to compare the differences between the two countries. That is not a real part of my research, but I am curious to see if there are any differences between Holland and the USA.

1. What is your age/the age of your child? (child, adolescent, adult). Male or female?

2. Which medication do you/does your child take? For how long?

3. Why do you/does your child take this medication? If you quit taking medicines, why?

4. What is the effect of the medicines? How long does it take for the effect to be noticable, both afer the very first dose and after the regular dose?

5. How long does the medication work?

6. Are there any side-effects? If yes, which and how serious are they?

7. If you or your child has taken more than one kind of medicine, which one do you/does your child prefer?

8. Do you/does your child feel comfortable using medication?

Thank you.
