I recently was diagnosed with ADD, even though I''ve known I had it for a long time. My Dr. gave me Ritalin. I was really hesitant at first because I knew it was a stimulant and I am always a nervous wreck. I don't even drink coffee because I am always fighting myself to stay calm so I can focus, a battle I never ever win.
10 mg were too strong. I tried 5 - too strong. I cut it into quarters, too strong. I have been up nealry 24 hours after taking 1.25 mg. This is crazy. Dr, wants to give me an extended release tablet instead. How is this supposed to help me? Keeping the stuff in my system longer so I stay awake for 2 whole days instead of 1? Plus I am not any more focused, feel panicky. I don't like it. I dont' want to give it more time. I can't funciton like this at work and school. He keeps avoiiding prescribing me Strattera. I haven't read good reviews about it anyway. Will Aderall maybe work diffrenlty and help calm me down and focus? What should I do?
I would get a second opinion on the ADHD diagnosis.
