Hi there, my son has adhd and I have done lots of reading on the topic and have begun to wonder if I might have it too.
Lots of the stuff seems to apply to me (the hyperfocus, the day dreaming, the starting projects but never finishing, talking fast and the eternal chatter in my head).....it all seems to make sense. I noticed last year when I was on antidepressants (Prozac) for post partum depression that the chatter stopped and I could focus more on my other two children. I could hoover and think about hoovering; I could read them a book and not think about other things.
I went to my doctor today and asked for a referral but she poo-pood the idea and said that if I felt better on antidepressants than that proved i did not have adhd as anti-d's are not used to treat adhd. Is this right? Could the anti-d's have helped the adhd?
I am in the UK and don't know where to go now for help/advice. Any ideas?

Yes, I have read that anti-d's can help adhd. Also, adhd is thought to be hereditary at least 80% of the time. Many people take stimulants and anti-depressants in combination.
