its grapes, limes, mango & melon thats a proper recipe not one i made up, & its nice
I know lots of parents are using smoothies to help with weight gain...Do you have a favorite recipe?
We just invented a new one last night that my 6 year old son loves....pumpkin pie smoothie....We used a scoop of canned pumpkin, a package of vanilla carnation instant breakfast, 3/4 to 1 cup milk and a few shakes of pumpkin pie spice...yum yum...he loved it.
i just made a nice one,I make them regularly for my 2 boys in the mornings...
My one ADD son has dairy allergies, so we use "So Good" strawberry soy ice cream, mixed with frozen berries, or frozen tropical fruits and usually a little cranberry or orange juice, or any combination of the above. Sometimes a banana, depending if they're in the mood for it, and usually a few extra ice cubes. And lately I've been adding protein powder and a little Omega-3 oil, which can only help the body and brain further...
I think the trick is using all the frozen stuff - I swear the coldness of it makes it taste better. It's darn good!

I might just try the protein powder...do you have a brand that you recommend?[QUOTE=Snowbuny631]I just made a really good one...probably super fattening
A few spoon fulls of vanilla yogart, sliced canned peaches, some ice cubes and cool whip! I dont care for peaches myself, my son loves them, but it was really good! I had 4 glasses of it and probably gained 5 lbs! My son is in a "mood" so he refused to drink it, oh well...his loss, my gain

Fattening is what we need in this house ( not for me but the kiddo)...the cool whip sounds good...betcha that would be yummy on the pumpkin smoothies my ds loves...just like pie
Protein shakes are popular with my kids, especially if they are rushing out the door in the morning. Usually just, banana, orange juice & protein powder.
Those with diary allergies try using flavored water inplace of the milk.
Protein shakes are very healthy cause they contain lots of vitamins as well. I suggest vanilla with friuts of choice. Choc. added with chocolate shakes. Ovaltine also can be added with milkshakes.
We also make home made whipping cream mixed with sweetner and a dash of vanilla on fruit pies. Great can have for those on a yeast free diet.
Goat products, Rice products for those who must be diary free. Suggested by allergist.
