I'm doing a school project on adhd, i chose the topic because i'm diagnosed with it and i'm also bipolar, but thats not the point, while i was looking up information, i found you guys. Does fish oil really work, because i'm gonna go home today after school and talk to my mom about it, its worth a try. Another question is how much does it cost? I found that so interesting. Thank you.

About the fish oil does it help with ADHD?

I've heard about it from a couple of people and was wondering if it really help or if i would just be wasting my money.

You can read a lot about fish oil on the alternatives and complimentary medicine board. The threads to look for have Omegas in the title. My 14 year old is adhd/bipolar and I have been giving him 3000mg of fish oil (omega 3's) a day for several months now.  I'm not sure exactly how much it has helped his mental clarity due to severe mood swings he's been suffering due to his bipolar...however it has worked wonders for his skin...and mine too since I have been taking it for mental health also.  There have been several studies done by Harvard as to how effective fish oil is for bipolar...I dont' know about any that have been done for ADHD....BUT, according to our psychiatrist it is beneficial to anybody, ADHD, bipolar, or no issues at all chances are it will help you in some way.
