My kids are both on dexadrine 10 and 15 mg. Over the past month my dd has lost 2 lbs (she is 11 and now weighs 70) and my ds has lost 1 lb (he's 9 and weighs 64). What kind of foods/supplements help with weight loss?
Thanks,
Lisa
I use smoothies with a carnation instant breakfast base and whole milk....my ds drinks these instead of milk with his breakfast...he gets at least one a day and has gained about 3 pounds in the last month or two....
you can add lots of stuff to the carnation instant breakfast ..I have a friend who adds cottage cheese and fruit ( she uses the vanilla as the base) and another who adds peanutbutter bananna to the chocolate...my son is picky and only likes vanilla with pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice
my ds is 6 and 46 pounds
you could have fun with your kids and let them come up with various smoothies
My pdoc said ds would probably lose weight and have trouble sleeping when he started on adderall. But I also started him on supplements of magnesium and omegas- he has had NO problems with either weight or sleep!
I also make sure he has a big breakfast of stuff like banana, yogurt, eggs, turkey sausage (he likes to dip it in syrup) and lots of healthy fruit snacks.
We also use magnesium and omegas...maybe this is what helped in addition to the smoothies...we also don't have any sleep issues
