Thanks I will keep everyone updated and I am thrilled and excited over it. It will help not only the whole family but financially as well. My daughters current teacher does not communicate much with us and I told the psychologist that during the intake and was told they would contact both her and the Principal and tell them their expectations.
I will post anything I learn.
My daughter is going to be involved in a 3 year study for ADHD, she will be on a behavior plan designed by the psychologists involved and consulting with her current psychologist, they are going to be following her case weekly and consulting with the school weekly. They do behavior modification prior to trying any medications and when they do medications they cover the expense and use lower doses than doctors will prescribe. I even will have a 24 hour emergency number for obvious reasons. Since she is currently on meds it may be lowered or tweaked somehow and they may try her without with a behavior modification plan. She will be monitored closely and next summer will be going to a summer camp for free.
For parents we will be recieving parenting classes to learn the behavior modification plan and other skills they feel we will need. I am excited. i was also informed there is a support group in our area I was unaware of through the university.
