I have ordered a few books on these types of kids since I am raising my grandson who is eight years old and has been dianoissed with ADHD and ODD he has always had problems with school and his behavior and now that he is in the second grade we are seeing more of it. We currently have him in IEP and that is working better but he still has problems throughout the day and at home with his behavior.
Recommended Dr Ross Greene "The Exploding Child" and "How to Parent The Exploding Child" there is also a CD available. These books and CD give you a great perspective on what your child is experiencing, it also is a great way to deal with their explosions, or shall I say head them off, I highly recommend these to all that have exploding children and nothing has worked so far.
I agree these are excellent books on parenting our highly inflexible, easily frustrated children. The correct title is The Explosive Child.I think one leads to the other. lol. Sorry, couldn't help it.
