Well I am not happy! I rang up last Wednesday to book my Theory driving test. The man on the phone said it was on a Wednesday. So I got my letter through and turned up today Wed 26Th. Only to find out when i got there that my test was yesterday!!!!! Damn it! I didn't check the letter. Now I have to re book. I am not getting anywhere with my drivng its taken me nearly 2years to learn and now I cant even resit my theory because I got the day WRONG!!!! Damn ADD.

Was it my ADD or the silly man on the phone? Maybe I should of checked the letter though.

It sounds pretty ADHD to me. Hey SS,

Things like that have happened to me too.  I find that for me I have to read all the way through things even if it bores me out of my skull.  I always get in trouble when I don't read things through first.  It just happened to me this week when I was on a job.  I have questions I have to answer and I should have looked through them all before I started the job.  Of course, you guessed it, started the job and didn't bother to read everything first.  Turns out I was suppose to do a count before I started the job.  I had to redo part of the project as a result.  Boy was I mad.  I know how ya feel friend.  Did you reschedule the test yet?  When you do get the next date, you may have to read things a couple of times and then make sure and write it down on your calender.  I don't know what I'd do without my calender.  I depend on it.  Looks like a kid's scribblings but it helps me to remember things.  Without it I'd be lost.  Hope you get to take your test soon.  I'm sure you'll do great!  Dee

Sarah - ADHD is a self-defeater.  You fear something and ADHD finds an "out".  Forget, mistake, justify not doing it.

If you know it's something you either fear or hate doing you must work harder.  Write it on your arm if you must.  Ask others to annoy you reminding you.

Whatever you need to do.

It's not an excuse - just a reason.

I used to do things like that on a continual basis.  I was looking for a new job once, and I made an appointment, wrote it down, was sure it was Monday.  Went to the appointment much to my embarrassment, the lady wasn't there.  I had missed my appointment by one week!!!  I looked at my calendar and sure enough I had written it right, but I had it in my mind wrong.  Do you think I would ckeck the calendar to make sure.  Nope.  Yes, it was my ADD doing it.  I have done that same type of thing many times.

Since I have been doing this crawling therapy, life is so much more clear.  I don't do these things anymore.  I would recommend it to anyone with ADD or ADHD to see if it works for them.  It is supposed to be a cure.  So I will let you know as I finish all the exercises and keep on posting to let you know if symptoms start back up again,  but for now, it is going great!  It really has worked for me and I can't see it being a placebo affect for all the things it has helped me with.

The book is Stopping ADHD and it is physical therapy crawling exercises.  They are all in the book.  See the alternative thread with the post "crawlers unite" to read more about how they have helped me.  Others are posting there too.

You passed, GREAT!  You'll pass that practical too.  You go girl!  Dee

Hey thanks for your support!!! Had my test two days later. PASSED!! So now just gotta do my practical, which i am so scared about. Already failed 4 but gotta keep going.

Thats a good point steppingstone. Maybe he was ADD. Gotta stop judging people. xx

I do things like this all the time.  Just a thought, do you think maybe the guy on the phone was ADD also? Good luck with your test! steppingstone38839.6733796296

Congratulations on passing your test.  Good luck on your practical!

Don't feel bad...I picked the wrong day to pay a new 0% charge card (intro offer)...Ya' know what?...Yes, they killed the 0% promo instantly.

What a bad feeling that is.      Frustrating.

So glad you eventually took it and passed!

I, too, have tremendous problems with calendar, clock, dates, hours, minutes, time, special occasions to remember, dates in history.  Everything related to time, is a problem for me.  I have to go to tremendous lengths to be sure I'm going to show up somewhere, even at work every day.
