Our son was dx'd at age 3 as well.  We chose not to pursue medication right now so I researched alternatives.  We decided on and have been using supplements for the past year w/ lots of success.  It's not a "quick fix" but we feel good about it and have seen good results.  You might check out the Alternatives to Meds section of this board and read up on Omegas and Magnesium.  Welcome and hope you find the answers you seek.

I am looking to get a little advise from anyone.  My son has diagnosed with ADHD since he was 3 1/2.  We started with ritalin, worked for a few months then stopped working, went with adderral and adderall xr, made him aggressive.  Then to Strattera, working for a few months then stopped working.  Now we have been on Concerta and Lamictal since Sept.  I think things are starting to spiral down hill.  He is calm and very focused.  He is the smartest in his class.  But lately he has been getting very emotional for very small things,  Developing lots of fears and losing his self confidence.  I am getting notes from his teacher everyday.

Is it possible that you can build a tolerance to the meds? I also have other fears about his growth.  He is now 6, weighs 34 pounds and 41 inches tall.  He was always small but it is really bad now.  he is not even on the charts.
