Methylin: how long to work? | ADHD Information

Does anyone have experience with Methylin?  I just start my ds (trying to wean off Risperdal) and he has been on it for just a day.  Does it take effect immediately, or will it take a few days to reach optimum effect?  He seems MORE active and talkative, not less...  Does it just take time for him to get usede to the meds?

My daughter is the same way when we tried stimulants.  Even the tiniest dose - 2 and 3 mg's.  She cannot tolerate stimulants and they have the opposite effect on her.  They make her more talkative.  Like she is on speed. 

Check with your doctor but the effects your mentioning aren't typical side effects and I don't think they will go away.

they work within an hour of my son taking them. He's really quiet though....def. has the opposite effect on him.My son 13 years old has been on Ritalin, concerta, strattera, and adderall. It doesn't matter what he takes he never can stop talking
