Stopped taking Concerta | ADHD Information

Boy that drug turned on me pretty quick.
I was taking 18mg and then doc doubled it to 36 cause I built a tolerance to the initial dosage. I never have felt so crappy in all my life. Drinking water like I was a camel, but just having really weird vision problems. I mean I can see just fine but things far away was like having a concussion or feeling confused? Also I have been experiencing this really annoying chest pain which my wife accounts to stress.
Also it tired the living hell out of me and I could not for the life of me focus during class and almost felt like going to sleep. Yesterday I took an 18mg instead of the 36mg because I had one leftover from my original prescription  and I had to drive 5 hours. I also did not  take  anything today, tomorrow or Monday. I have a doctors appointment at 10:50 on Monday so hopefully something can be done because I do feel less calmer but the focus part has been nonexistent. I find the focus really hasnt approved since I started taking the drug.

Any thoughts would be great :)

thecrozz38836.6517592593Have you tried Ritalin LA?  That did pretty well for my daughter only we had to switch her to Concerta 18 mg because the Ritalin LA 20 MG  was too strong for her.  There are others out there I am sure your doctor can discuss with you.  Other than that I do not have much else to offer you.  I wish you the best JillI just started Concerta about 6 weeks ago. Started with the 18mg and
now on 36mg. Now that you mention it, I think I have the vision
problems, too. I was just complaining to the husband that I need a new
eyeglass prescription...I also have a constant slight dull headache all the
time. Even though it's supposed to last 12 hours, after about 8 hours I
feel totally beat down. Like, ready to pass out beat down. I also am
always thirsty, ALWAYS thirsty, but I figure all the water is good for my
skin. I don't take my meds on the weekend. I feel like my body needs the
break.

The Concerta, though, has helped me tremendously for my focus issues.
I'm trying to wrap up my semester and the meds have allowed me to sit in
the library for 8 hours straight every day getting work done. What the
Concerta doesn't do is modify behavior. I'm still struggling with choosing
which tasks to focus on, whether it's surfing the net or writing my paper.
Discipline.... I'm going to get some help with that from the LD/ADHD
office at my school.

So, anyways, I guess for me the side effects aren't bad enough for me.
The focus I've been able to get is well worth it. Maybe after I've turned in
my final projects I'll reconsider. For me, it's been the difference between
night and day. I hope you find a solution so that you can start gettin'
stuff done!

Folks, this Anti-Ritalin person is nothing but a Troll with a story that is based on no facts at all.  Just a big scare tactic from Anti-med weirdo's.
The worst part about this phsycho is that she is hijacking other peoples threads. Thecross has a legitamate concern and deserves respect and an answer not BS.

Thecross - did you have the same tired feeling with the 18 and the 36. My trial with Concerta (at 9) lasted 4 days. I never felt so down and horrid in my life. BUT, though my symptoms sound similar to yours, I was also taking Lexapro so I don't know which caused the trouble.

BTW: I had vision trouble too on both Concerta and Adderall. I knew it was the drugs because my vision was fine just the week before and know that I am off any stimulants I am not having any vision issues.

FYI: I have been on Wellbutrin for 1week and it is supposed to be too soon to tell, but I am already feeling a difference. I don't think it is doing much for the ADD (YET!!!) but practically over night I went from the pit of dispare to knowing life was going to turn out ok

not feeling well?  i wonder if it could be all those drugs your on?  concerta, adderall, wellbutrin, and you say you don't know which one was the problem eh?

Please do not post anything negative. I am 31 and relatively new to this drug.
Please get rid of these morons who ruined this thread.

Thanks

Imac I try VERY hard to ignore the spelling and get to the meat of the issue - the LIES.  Lack of grammatic or spelling finesse is forgivable.  Outright deceipt and fear mongering isn't.

Not only does it lie but it goes everywhere slinging mud and ridicule in places it has no idea about.  Help is mocked.  Fear is spread (albeit really poorly - makes me long for the days of the more wordwise trolls) in as many corners as it can do.

It's actually laughable.  By being so transparent in its obvious hatred of its fellow human beings here and showing a near-cretinous knowledge of basic facts, anatomy, history and chemisty, and just simply being a spiteful spitball on the blackboard of life - it makes decisions on believablity easy to the newest people on the forum.

Your Klan members called binformed - it's time to clean the sheets.
