its a problem for me too with parents and teachers. I find that im at my calest (not really calm) when i play tennis. Its not about playing sports. Its that in tennis i can focus for short periods of time (every point) then i dont get frustrated and i feel proud of myself that i went on playing for hours with consistency. There are the days where i throw my racket and i just lose it but thats when theres something thats been bothering me at school. I dont take medication...Oh here you are GLEN! I found you! hehehhehehehehehe! Have the doctors let you escape again?! Damn! BLOOM, don't listen to Glen, he's an escapee from the mental hospital down the street. He thinks he's a doctor and that EVERYONE has ADHD. He is truly a problem on this site. He wants to know the situation, but he's really just got no life outside of the home and well, he picks his nose all day and types up doctors reports on this here message board. He's quite out of control really, and he keeps slipping out of our grasp. Tell you what, just ignore him, or better yet, when you get angry out of control, just come online here and type up some sh*t about Glen, that ought to be good and it will make US ALL laugh! Any I just know you will feel a lot, LOT better. Or better yet, you could find him and beat the pulp out of him? Hmmm, what'd ya say, How about a trip to Canada?.IMac38947.8464814815
Has your doctor suggested this with your medication or instead of it? If instead of that would show a very ignorant doctor who doesn't believe you have ADHD. That's just plain horrible if that's the case. Exercise isn't the cure for ADHD even if a few nutjobs here and around may say so.
If the doctor though is saying that if you still have energy to exercise well that's a mixed thing. Sometimes the medication is taken too late in the day and that can cause the extra energy. Perhaps check and see if you can take the meds much earlier?
If you are taking them early and still full of energy - well how old are you? That makes a difference. If you are still very young maybe a pass at the local swimming pool or gym may help burn off some of the excess. If you and your family cannot afford that many places have special deals for low-income families (my ex gets in with her children at a very reduced rate at the local swimming pool).
If you are a young adult have you thought of becoming a big brother/sister? Many people find that doing something useful can keep you occupied and give you that satisfying feeling of helping other people. Then you can take them places like the local gym, park or pool and get rid of some of the extra energy.
So tell me - what is the situation? There are so many things that could be happening that I certainly need more info if I can help.
